WORSHIP AT MT. CALVARY
A Word about worship
Why we worshipWorship is one of the most important things we get to do as Christians. In the early days of Christianity, the Bible tells us that the first followers of Jesus "devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42). They understood that in worship they receive the gifts that God gives and are forgiven and strengthened by His Word.
This is why we, at Mt. Calvary, gather together each week around God's Word and Sacraments. As we listen, learn, pray, and sing, Jesus comes to us with His gifts so that we may be forgiven and strengthened to serve and bless others, just as He has served us. |
