When Mt. Calvary was first formed in 1955, it began as a mission church to share the forgiving love of Christ with the people of Decatur and the surrounding areas. Since that time, we have remained passionately committed to that very same goal. Our mission is simple and finds it's roots in the Scriptures:

The mission of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church is to introduce Jesus to those who do not know Him and to help those who already know Him to know Him better.

There are many people these days who don't know Jesus. Some may have been raised in the Church, but struggled to connect. Some may have serious questions and are a looking for a place to wrestle through them. Some may have never heard about Jesus at all. If any of these describe you, please let us help (re)introduce Jesus to you.
