Congregational Dinners
Here at Mt. Calvary, we believe that creating community is an important part of living together as the Body of Christ. In order to help foster this fellowship, we host a congregational dinner at least once per month. These " Congregational Night Out" events are held at member's homes, local restaurants, and even occasionally at the church itself. Please check out our "Events" tab for upcoming activities.
Stitches of Love
|
Stitches of love is a ministry developed right here at Mt. Calvary that meets twice a month to work on projects to donate to those in need. In the past, this group has made lap afghans for nursing home residents. Currently, they are loom knitting hats for kids in the Decatur Public Schools. Each year they sponsor a few schools within our community.
Stitches of Love meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 2pm. |
Big Kids
Big Kids is one of our ministries for the young at heart adults above the age of 50. They gather together for fellowship as well as life-long learning. Gatherings involve a potluck and a presentation. Often presenters are professionals in the community or serve at a local relief organization. Some of our recent presentations have been about the following topics or organizations:
Ladies Guild
The Ladies Guild is made up of all the ladies of Mt. Calvary. They work on a number of projects throughout the year, including the Holiday Christmas Bazaar, our annual rummage sale, as well as special dinners.
